Yes. SDB provides water damage restoration services for homeowners, landlords, property managers, and commercial property owners throughout our service area. Whether it’s a flooded basement in a family home or a burst pipe in a commercial building, we have the equipment and certified technicians to handle it.
Yes. Water damage doesn’t happen on a schedule, and neither do we. SDB responds to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays.
Our primary service area includes Cherokee County (Canton, Ball Ground, Holly Springs, Waleska), along with Bartow, Pickens, Cobb, and Forsyth counties. Call us — if we can get there, we will.
Water Damage & Drying
A typical residential water loss takes 3–5 days to dry to standard, though larger or more severely affected structures may take longer. We monitor moisture levels daily and provide you with readings throughout the process. We don’t leave until the structure passes clearance.
Almost certainly yes. Water travels into wall cavities, subfloors, and insulation where it’s invisible to the eye. Surface dryness is not structural dryness. Skipping professional drying is one of the most common causes of mold growth and structural damage after a water loss.
Often yes — if we get there quickly. Hardwood has a short window for salvage before it cups, buckles, or becomes unsalvageable. Our CCT-certified technicians assess the condition of your flooring and deploy the appropriate drying method. Early action is the key.
We use commercial-grade equipment including truck-mounted and portable water extractors, high-velocity air movers, LGR and desiccant dehumidifiers, thermal imaging cameras, and calibrated moisture meters. This isn’t consumer-grade equipment — it’s built for the job.
Mold
Visible dark spots on walls or ceilings, a musty odor, or a recent water event that wasn’t professionally dried are all indicators. Mold can also grow inside wall cavities where it’s not visible. If you’ve had water damage and aren’t sure, call us for an inspection.
Mold exposure can cause respiratory issues, allergic reactions, and other health effects — especially in children, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems. It should be taken seriously and addressed by certified professionals.
It depends on the scope. For small, contained areas, it may not be necessary. For larger remediation jobs, temporary relocation may be recommended. We’ll give you an honest assessment during our initial inspection.
Insurance
It depends on the cause. Most standard homeowner’s policies cover sudden and accidental water damage — a burst pipe, an appliance failure, or a roof leak from a storm. Flooding from rising groundwater typically requires a separate flood insurance policy. We’ll help you understand your coverage and work directly with your adjuster.
Yes. SDB documents everything — moisture readings, drying logs, photos, and a detailed scope of work — in the format insurance adjusters require. We’ve navigated this process many times and can help move your claim forward efficiently.
That’s a question best directed to your insurance agent — rate impacts vary by carrier and policy. What we can tell you is that delaying remediation to avoid a claim almost always results in greater damage and higher costs down the road.
Working With SDB
Yes. SDB Water Mitigation and Recovery LLC is a fully licensed general contractor in the State of Georgia, and we are fully licensed, bonded, and insured. We’re also IICRC-certified and EPA Lead-Safe Certified. You’re in qualified hands.
Both. SDB is one of the few mitigation companies in the area that holds a general contractor’s license, which means we can take your project from emergency response all the way through completed reconstruction — new drywall, floors, paint, and finish work. One company, one point of contact.
If it’s safe to do so: shut off the water source if you can, move valuables and electronics away from the affected area, and avoid walking through standing water if there’s any chance of electrical hazards. Document what you can with photos for your insurance claim — but don’t let that delay calling us.
